Netflix has unveiled the first photo of Michael Fassbender as Joe Kennedy Sr. in its upcoming drama series “Kennedy” about the American family dynasty. The series, currently shooting in London, stars Laura Donnelly as Rose Kennedy, Nick Robinson as Joe Kennedy Jr. and Joshuah Melnick as Jack Kennedy.
Also onboard are Wyatt Russell as Charles Lindbergh, Eddie Marsan as J. Edgar Hoover, and Toby Huss as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The series, set primarily in the 1930s and 1940s, charts the rise of Joe and Rose Kennedy and their nine children. Sam Shaw serves as showrunner. [Source: Netflix]
Talamasca: The Secret Order
AMC has cancelled its Anne Rice Universe-set supernatural thriller series “Talamasca: The Secret Order” after just one season. The series centered on a secret society that works to maintain balance between the mortal world and the world of vampires, witches, and demons.
The show failed to snag either the major critical acclaim of “Interview With the Vampire” or the strong viewing numbers of “Mayfair Witches,” the former gets a third season in June and the latter has been renewed for a third. [Source: TV Line]
The Dark Wizard
HBO has premiered the trailer for its four-part documentary series “The Dark Wizard” about legendary controversial climber and BASE jumper Dean Potter. The Peter Mortimer and Nick Rosen-directed series premieres on April 14th.
Potter was a gifted Yosemite climber who became a polarising figure as he chased bigger extremes and kept pushing limits with notable ascents of mountains like El Capitan and the Eiger. He died during a wingsuit flight in Yosemite Valley in 2015.
The House of the Spirits
Amazon Prime Video has premiered the trailer for “The House of the Spirits,” an eight-episode Spanish-language TV series adaptation of Isabel Allende’s landmark novel “The House of the Spirits” which will premiere globally on April 29th with three episodes. The series will be fully available from May 13th.
The story spans roughly half a century in a conservative South American country and follows three generations of women as their lives intersect with the rise and fall of power around them. Alfonso Herrera, Nicole Wallace, Dolores Fonzi, Fernanda Castillo, Aline Kuppenheim and more star.
