The first episode of Taylor Sheridan’s “The Madison” series pulled in eight million views in its first ten days of streaming on the Paramount+ service reports Variety.
That marks the single biggest launch to date for a series created by the “Yellowstone,” “Tulsa King” and “Lioness” producer. It also proved Sheridan’s most popular series launch in the women aged over 35 demographic.
The data comes via Luminate, which indicated that the series was the No. 1 most-watched streaming original series, in order of views, during the week of March 13th-19th. It was also the No. 5 most-watched streaming original series, in order of total viewing minutes, in the same period.
The series is a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana
Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Will Arnett, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Matthew Fox lead the cast.
It’s the second of three “Yellowstone” spin-offs coming this year – the others being the more directly connected “Marshals” currently airing on CBS, and “The Dutton Ranch” due out mid-May.
