Following previous trailers, HBO has now released the final trailer for its “Game of Thrones” spin-off series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms”.
The series is adapted from George R.R. Martin’s novella “The Hedge Knight”. A century before the events of “Game of Thrones,” two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros… a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey), and his diminutive squire, Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell).
Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.
The cast includes Daniel Ings as Ser Lyonel Baratheon, Bertie Carvel as Baelor Targaryen, Danny Webb as Ser Arlan of Pennytree, Sam Spruell as Maekar Targaryen, Shaun Thomas as Raymun Fossoway, Finn Bennett as Aerion Targaryen, Edward Ashley as Ser Steffon Fossoway, Tanzyn Crawford as Tanselle, Henry Ashton as Daeron Targaryen, Youssef Kerkour as Steely Pate, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor as Plummer, and Daniel Monks as Ser Manfred Dondarrion.
The series is expected to be more comedic, softer and more standalone in nature, with no visible magic, offering an experience more akin to a story set in period Britain, albeit set in Westeros.
George R. R. Martin and Ira Parker co-created and executive-produced the series, on which Parker serves as showrunner.
The six-episode “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” is set to premiere with weekly episodes from January 18th.
