A couple of trailers today. First, Saban Films has released the official trailer for the Maika Monroe and Helen Hunt-led crime thriller “In Cold Light” opening in cinemas on January 23rd 2026. Maxime Giroux directs from a script by Patrick Whistler.
Fresh out of prison, Ava (Monroe) fights to reclaim her drug empire but is framed for murder, hunted by cops and a ruthless crime boss (Hunt). Forced to face her estranged father, she battles betrayal and bloodshed to survive. Troy Kotsur, Allan Hawco, Patrick Sabongui and Jesse Inving co-star.
Next, Netflix has shared the official trailer for the film adaptation of Emily Henry’s popular 2021 romantic comedy novel “People We Meet on Vacation”. The film releases on January 9th 2026.
Free-spirited Poppy (Emily Bader) and routine-loving Alex (Tom Blyth) have been unlikely best friends for a decade, living in different cities but spending every summer vacation together. The careful balance of their friendship is put to the test when they begin to question what has been obvious to everyone else — could they actually be the perfect romantic match?
Then, Sony Pictures Classics has released the trailer for Rebecca Zlotowski’s French-language noir “A Private Life” starring Jodie Foster. Foster plays a renowned psychiatrist who is deeply troubled by the sudden death of one of her patients.
Convinced that it was murder, she decides to investigate. Daniel Auteuil, Virginie Efira, Matthieu Amalric, Vincent Lacoste & Luana Bajrami co-star in the film which gets a one-week awards qualifying release this Friday ahead of a theatrical run on January 16th.
Then comes “California Schemin’,” the directorial debut of actor James McAvoy. Based on an outrageous true story, the film follows two aspiring Scottish MCs who devise an audacious scheme to achieve their dream of a record deal, by posing as Californian hip hop artists.
As fame beckons and the lies pile up, their friendship is put to the test. Samuel Bottomley, Séamus McLean Ross, Lucy Halliday, Rebekah Murrell and McAvoy star in the film, which hits UK & Irish cinemas from April 10th.
Finally, there’s “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show” which showcases her final performance of the record-breaking concert tour. The concert film streams exclusively on Disney+ beginning December 12th.
