Rising British actor Martin Bobb-Semple (“One of Us is Lying,” “All American: Homecoming”) has joined the upcoming “Tomb Raider” live-action TV series at Amazon Prime Video.
Specifics of his role are under wraps, though he is set to be a series regular in what’s believed to be a major role alongside former “Game of Thrones” alum Sophie Turner as Lara Croft.
The series was first announced in January 2023 when celebrated British scribe and Emmy winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge was attached to create, write scripts and executive produce the series.
That’s still the case with Chad Hodge also onboard as executive producer and co-showrunner. Jonathan van Tulleken will serve as director and executive producer on the series which will begin filming January 19th.
The show is expected to involve Lara Croft as an already established adventurer and archaeologist, have a 1990s vibe and is aiming for a tone akin to 1999’s “The Mummy”.
Further cast announcements are expected in the coming weeks.
