“Sonic,” “Turtles,” “Top Gun” Films Set Dates

Paramount Pictures has set dates for two upcoming feature films and a high profile re-release.

First up, the studio will re-release Tony Scott’s 1986 action classic “Top Gun” in cinemas on May 13th 2026, to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary.

The release comes four years after the sequel “Top Gun: Maverick” became a global sensation with a third film reportedly in the works.

Next, the previously announced untitled hybrid live-action “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” feature being produced by Neal H. Moritz has locked down a November 17th 2028 release date.

That project marks the first live-action Turtles film since “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” in 2016, and will follow one year after the animated sequel to “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” arrives in cinemase on September 17th 2027.

Finally, an untitled new film in the “Sonic the Hedgehog” franchise has targeted a December 22nd 2028 release.

Plot details have not yet been revealed for the new project from the Sonic universe that hails from Original Film and SEGA Sammy Group.

The project is separate from “Sonic the Hedgehog 4” which remains on track for a March 19th 2027 release.
