“Twisted Metal” Renewed For Season 3

Peacock

Peacock has officially renewed its car-centric comedy series “Twisted Metal” for a third season.

Based on the classic PlayStation game series, the show follows John Doe (Anthony Mackie), a motor-mouthed outsider and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz), a badass axe-wielding car thief.

In the first season, he must deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. In the second season, he is pulled into a race run by the mysterious Calypso (Anthony Carrigan).

Other characters include a deranged clown (Joe Seanoa/Will Arnett) who drives an all-too-familiar ice cream truck, and a reunion with his sister Dollface (Tiana Okoye).

The second season finale sets the stage for the third season as an all-out war gets underway between those who live in the walled-off cities and the outsiders who traverse the wasteland. John and Quiet are also on the run after being framed.

The third season will see genre alum David Reed (“The Boys,” “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds,” “The Magicians,” “Battlestar Galactica,” “Supernatural”) taking over as showrunner and executive producer following Michael Jonathan Smith’s exit after two seasons.

Peacock says the second season clocked in 993 million minutes/16.55 million hours viewed on the streaming service – making it their second highest-reaching original returning scripted season.
