Siobhán Cullen (“Bodkin”), Jun Jong-seo (“Burning”), Nassim Lyes (“Under Paris”), and Kevin McKidd (“Rome”) have joined the cast of Chad Stahelski’s remake of the 1980s action fantasy cult classic “Highlander” for Amazon MGM Studios.
They join a cast that includes Henry Cavill, Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Jeremy Irons, Djimon Hounsou, Max Zhang and Drew McIntyre.
Cavill is playing Connor MacLeod, a Medieval Scottish Highlander who discovers he is an immortal warrior. With the help of a swordsman named Ramirez (Crowe), the Highlander battles other immortals across the centuries.
Of the newcomers, Cullen is playing a police psychiatrist who helps MacLeod. Jong plays a Watcher sect member, Lyes is an immortal pursuing MacLoed. McKidd’s role is not clear.
They join Bautista as The Kurgen, Gillan as MacLeod’s original wife, Hounsou as an African immortal, Irons as the leader of the Watchers, and Abela as MacLeod’s modern romantic interest.
Michael Finch wrote the script for the remake. Filming, which was originally to begin this Fall before Cavill’s injury delayed things, is slated to begin early 2026.
