Out promoting “Die, My Love,” actress Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that she and Emma Stone are teaming up for a film about the iconic Muppets diva character Miss Piggy.
Lawrence and Stone have become close friends via a mutual friend – Woody Harrelson – and have been looking to star together on something for a while.
Appearing on Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang’s podcast Las Culturistas, Lawrence confirmed that she and Stone will be producing the project.
In addition, the recently cast in “One Piece” actor and Tony winner Cole Escola is writing the screenplay: “I don’t know if I can announce this, but I’m just going to. Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie, and Cole is writing it.”
Asked if they would also star in the film, Lawrence says: “I think so… We have to.”
She was also asked about the rumors of her involvement in a potential remake of Robert Zemeckis’ classic dark comedy “Death Becomes Her” – presumably in the Meryl Streep role.
Lawrence says: “No, that was just like fan casting. It would be great. I would love to. I mean, I would be there.”
