Ian McKellen and “Severance” breakout Tramell Tillman are set to join “X” and “Pearl” filmmaker Ti West’s next film “Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol” at Paramount Pictures.
The project is dubbed “a thrilling ghost story set in Dickens’ London, following one man’s supernatural journey to face his past, present and future and fight for a second chance.”
Johnny Depp will play Scrooge, while Andrea Riseborough is also attached to star in the project that has a script by Nathaniel Halpern. Emma Watts is producing.
Tillman will play the Ghost of Christmas Present. McKellen’s role is unknown at this time with Marley the most likely character.
Stephen Deuters and Jason Forman are executive producers. “A Christmas Carol” has already set a November 13th 2026 release date.
“Nosferatu” filmmaker Robert Eggers is lining up a new “A Christmas Carol” adaptation as well, the project likely to be his next after he finishes his currently in production “Werwulf”.
