“Star Wars” alum Daisy Ridley is set to star in a true story tale an ICU nurse turned MMA fighter titled “Killa Bee” at Knockout Productions, Picture Perfect and Moviehouse Entertainment.

Ridley will play Bryony Tyrell, a mother of two with a master’s degree in nursing and a degree in molecular biology.

She worked as a Southampton nurse in the ICU by day, dealing with the challenges of the UK’s National Health Service. At night, she transformed into one of Britain’s leading cage-fighting prospects.

She had begun kickboxing at university and got up to black belt status before branching out into martial arts. She began competing as an amateur before moving to the professional ranks and has won multiple belts.

Ridley says in a statement: “Bryony’s story is one of extraordinary courage and resilience. I was deeply moved by her emotional and empowering journey. I can’t wait to bring her spirit to the screen”.

Written by Ruth Sewell, the film will be directed by Kenton Oxley (“Farah”) and produced by Lucinda Thakrar and Mark Vennis. Shooting begins in the second quarter of next year.
