Warner Bros. Pictures is in final negotiations to acquire the Keanu Reeves-led sci-fi feature “Shiver”.
Ian Shorr wrote the script that centers on a smuggler who finds himself in the middle of a deadly double-cross while on a job in the Caribbean Sea.
This results in him being surrounded by bodies, hostile mercenaries and thirsty sharks. Suddenly, he finds himself in a deathly time loop and scrambles to break the cycle.
The project is being dubbed “Edge of Tomorrow” meets “The Shallows”. Shorr previously penned the widely panned immortality film “Infinite” and the horror comedy “Office Uprising”.
“Deadpool” and “Terminator: Dark Fate” helmer Tim Miller is attached to direct while “Kingsman” helmer Matthew Vaughn will produce the film alongside Aaron Ryder (“Dumb Money”).
Reeves was most recently in “Ballerina” and “Good Fortune” and has several projects in development, including “BRZRKR”.
