Supermax
“Halloween” (2018) and “Pineapple Express” filmmaker David Gordon Green has committed to direct the high-concept, propulsive thriller “Supermax” for Miramax. Shooting begins this Spring with casting now underway.

The story follows two FBI agents investigating a murder perpetrated within the world’s most secure prison. David Weil & David J. Rosen (“Hunters,” “Invasion”) penned the script while Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona produce. [Source: Bloody Disgusting]

Monster Mash
Miramax has optioned the rights to Boris Pickett’s famed 1962 song “Monster Mash” with plans to turn it into a family-friendly animated musical feature. The song follows a mad scientist whose monster, late one evening, rises from his slab to perform a new dance which becomes the hit of the land. A party for other monsters ensues. [Source: Deadline]

Ink
Emmy-winner Claire Foy will join Jack O’Connell and Guy Pearce in “Ink” for Studiocanal, Media Res and House Production. The film is based on James Graham’s Tony-nominated play, with Graham penning the screenplay and production currently underway. The story revolves around the rise of the Rupert Murdoch empire and his purchase of The Sun in the 1960s. [Source: Deadline]

Behemoth
Olivia Wilde and Eva Victor will join Pedro Pascal and David Harbour in “Andor” creator Tony Gilroy’s drama “Behemoth!”. Shooting begins in Los Angeles later this week. Gilroy wrote the script and is producing with Sanne Wohlenberg and John Gilroy.

The project follows a love letter to the music of the movies and the people who make it. It tells of a musician (Pascal) from a family of musicians who returns to Los Angeles. Wilde will play his former lover. [Source: THR]
