NEON has released the trailer for “The Worst Person in the World” director Joachim Trier’s new drama “Sentimental Value” starring Elle Fanning, Stellan Skarsgård, and Renate Reinsve.
In the film, sisters Nora (Reinsve) and Agnes (Inga Ibsdotter Lillea) reunite with their estranged father, the charismatic Gustav (Skarsgård), a once-renowned director who offers stage actress Nora a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film.
When Nora turns it down, she soon discovers he has given her part to an eager young Hollywood star (Fanning). Suddenly, the two sisters must navigate their complicated relationship with their father – and deal with an American star dropped right into the middle of their complex family dynamics.
Anders Danielson Lie, Cory Michael Smith, Catherine Cohen, Andreas Stoltenberg Granerud, and Øyvind Hesjedal co-star. Eskil Vogt and Trier penned the script.
The film has had stunning reviews across festivals this year with a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and 89/100 on Metacritic, and is expected to sit high on many Top Ten lists as well as being a potential awards candidate.
“Sentimental Value” opens in U.S. cinemas next month.
