New Photo: Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke

Warner Bros. Pictures

Following his posting of a previously unseen shot of Henry Cavill as Superman, filmmaker Zack Snyder has done the same again – this time with another actor from the DCEU.

Following his recent joining of Instagram, Snyder has now offered a never-before-seen shot of Joe Manganiello dressed up as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke from the set of “Justice League”.

Snyder captioned his post: “This I shot with my Leica monochrome and my modified 50mm dream lens by @zerooptik thank you @joemanganiello for being a perfect Deathstroke.”

The “True Blood” and “Magic Mike XXL” star only got to briefly play the role for a post-credits stinger piece in “Justice League”. The plan was originally to have him return as the main villain of the Ben Affleck-directed “Batman” film that was in development at one time.

That never happened; the project fell by the wayside as Matt Reeves came in with his own standalone take with the Robert Pattinson-led “The Batman”.

Manganiello previously spoke about the film back in 2020, calling it akin to David Fincher’s “The Game” as he sets out to systemic dismantle the life of Bruce Wayne from the inside out – killing everyone close to Bruce as he felt responsible for something that happened to him.

It’s not expected that Manganiello will return to the role, even as “Captain America: Brave New World” writer Matthew Orton was hired to pen a “Deathstroke and Bane” film last year.
