Glen Powell Suggest For Marvel’s “Nova”

Hulu

Michael Waldron has become a fixture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in recent years. He served as head writer and executive producer on Marvel’s acclaimed Disney+ series “Loki,” wrote the script for Sam Raimi’s “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” and is co-writing the script for “Avengers: Doomsday” alongside Stephen McFeely.

Waldron still somehow found the time to create Starz’s “Heels” and more recently the Hulu sports comedy “Chad Powers” starring Glen Powell.

Speaking with The Playlist, he was asked about “Twisters” and “Top Gun: Maverick” star Powell and what role in the MCU he thinks the actor should play. Waldron says the actor would be “a pretty good Nova” – referring to the character of Richard Rider/Nova.

Marvel Studios has been teasing Nova’s arrival eventually in the MCU since the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” introduced the Nova Corps.

The Richrd Rider character hasn’t been portrayed on screen but Marvel has been working on a “Nova” series for a few years – even as the show has been stuck in development hell. Ed Bernero is the showrunner and writer on that.

Powell has been rumored for several superhero roles in the past, such as Scott Summers/Cyclops for Marvel and Booster Gold for DC. The actor will be seen on the big screen next month in Edgar Wright’s “The Running Man”.
