X-Men
Laurence Fishburne has surprised fans by revealing his desire to play Professor X in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Speaking during a “The Matrix” reunion panel at New York Comic Con, he says: “I know that they’re talking about the X-Men now. So, at this point, I want one of two things. The first thing would be: what do you think about Laurence Fishburne as Professor X?”.
The question from Fishburne drew immediate cheers and applause from the crowd. Patrick Stewart and James McAvoy have played the role on screen. Fishburne already appeared in the MCU as Bill Foster in “Ant-Man and the Wasp”. [Source: EW]
Ace Frehley
Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist for Kiss, died Thursday in New Jersey. He was 74 and surrounded by family when he passed. Frehley appeared on Kiss’ first nine albums, and after leaving the group in 1982, he returned for the band’s 1998 reunion album. He also released nine solo studio albums. [Source: THR]
In Love
George Clooney and Annette Bening will star in a new film adaptation of Amy Bloom’s best-selling memoir “In Love: A Memoir of Love and Loss” at Anton. Paul Weitz will direct the film.
The book follows Bloom as she discusses how she slowly lost her husband to Alzheimer’s, how the two made the decision to travel to Switzerland to end his life, and the struggle to move forward as a widow. Clooney, Weitz, Grant Heslov, Andrew Miano, Eddie Vaisman and Julia Lebedev will produce. [Source: THR]
Toy Story 5
Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures have released a new image from “Toy Story 5” showing off a first look at Buzz Lightyear and Woody in the upcoming film. In the new film, Buzz, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder when they go head to head with an all-new threat to playtime – an electronic tablet.

His & Hers
Netflix has announced a January 8th premiere date for the six-episode psychological thriller drama series “His & Hers” led by Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal. Pablo Schreiber, Marin Ireland, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Sunita Mani co-star.
Based on Alice Feeney’s novel of the same name, the story follows a reclusive ex-news anchor (Thompson) who overhears talk of a murder in the sleepy town where she grew up and goes searching for answers. Bernthal plays the investigating detective. Dee Johnson and William Oldroyd serve as showrunners.
