Scrubs
ABC has released a first photo of the original main cast of “Scrubs”” reunited for the first table read for the upcoming reboot. Original series creator Bill Lawrence is pictured alongside stars Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Zach Braff, Judy Reyes and John C. McGinley.
The new series will follow JD Dorian (Braff) and Christopher Turk (Faison), who scrub in together for the first time in a long time- medicine has changed, interns have changed, but their bromance has stood the test of time. No premiere date has yet been set. [Source: ABC]
What Happens at Night
Out promoting “One Battle After Another,” actor Leonardo DiCaprio spoke some more about his upcoming re-teaming with Martin Scorsese on the film adaptation of Francis Steegmuller’s “What Happens at Night” which begins shooting in January.
He says Scorsese told him to rewatch Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” as a ‘reference point’ for the film. The story tackles an American couple who checks into a nearly deserted hotel in a snowbound European town to adopt a baby. While there, the husband’s anxieties about pending fatherhood blur the line between dream and reality. [Source: Ringer Movies]
Monopoly
Studio Lambert (“The Traitors,” “The Circle”), Wheelhouse (“Million Dollar Secret,” “Buying Beverly Hills”) and Endemol Shine North America (“Ripley,” “Lego Masters”) are reportedly all vying for the right to produce a Netflix game show based on the iconic board game “Monopoly”.
Around 50 companies understood to have submitted creative ideas for the adaptation with around 30 pre-approved by the streamer. The mobile version of the game “Monopoly Go!” launched in 2023, and its subsequent success, has been a big factor in getting the unscripted series to move forward. [Soruce: Deadline]
Useful Idiots
I’m hearing about a hot project that’s brewing over at Amazon/MGM. It comes from talented director Joseph Cedar and already has two A-list actresses attached to star.
Meryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver are reportedly going to star in “Footnote” filmmaker Joseph Cedar’s “Useful Idiots” at Amazon MGM Studios. The project is being penned by Callie Khouri (“Thelma & Louise”) and production is scheduled to begin in January. Plot details are under wraps. [Source: World of Reel]
