WWE superstar Drew McIntyre has officially joined the cast of the new “Highlander” film at Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists.
McIntyre will star opposite leading man Henry Cavill as his character Connor MacLeod’s brother Angus MacLeod.
Russell Crowe, Dave Bautista, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou and Max Zhang co-star in the film which Michael Finch (“John Wick: Chapter 4”) has penned.
The original film portrayed the climax of an ancient battle between immortal warriors, unfolding through interwoven past and present-day storylines. The feature inspired multiple sequels and a popular TV series.
Chad Stahelski is directing the project which has been in development for nearly a decade.
Cavill was training for many months for the long-gestating project which was to originally shoot this month until Cavill’s recent injury delayed the shoot to early 2026.
