Four years after it was first announced, “Marvel’s Spider-Man” game developers Insomniac Games have finally taken the lid off their highly anticipated “Marvel’s Wolverine” game title.
Announced during a Sony State of Play, the game will see former “Spartacus” series alum Liam McIntyre take on the role of the adamantium clawed mutant.
The official synopsis reads: “Become a living weapon. As he searches for answers about his past, Wolverine will do whatever it takes – unleashing brutal claw combat, violent rage, and relentless determination – to cut through the mystery of the man he used to be”.
Gameplay footage shows off first looks at a number of X-Men characters in the game, including Mystique and Omega Red, and promises Spider-Man level graphics and similar gameplay – albeit much more bloody due to the claws.
We also see various outfits the character will sport in the game. The title will reportedly be set in its own universe created by the studio, not sharing one with the “Spider-Man” games.
“Marvel’s Wolverine” is a PS5 exclusive and currently slated for release Fall 2026, likely to be PlayStation’s big single player title for the back half of the year in the way next week’s “Ghost of Yotei” aims to be for this year.
