“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” Casts Tombstone

The CW

Tombstone will be one of the villains in Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” and now they’ve set their actor – Marvin Jones III will take on the role.

Jones previously voiced the character in Sony’s animated Oscar winner “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” and returns to it for the forthcoming “Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse”.

It’ll mark the second comic book villain for the actor following his role as supervillain Tobias Whale in The CW’s “Black Lightning” TV series.

Jones has more recently starred in Joe Carnahan’s “Shadow Force,” and shows like “HALO,” “The Equalizer,” “All American: Homecoming” and the upcoming “Criminal”.

In the comics, Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone is a crime boss – a hulking African-American albino with filed teeth and near-indestructible skin. He recurs in the Spidey comics.

The film has halted production for a week following an injury to star Tom Holland that left him with a minor concussion. Tombstone is expected to be one of several rumored villains for the film alongside Michael Mando as Scorpion.
