Spidey Suit Design & More Punisher Tank Talk

Sony Pictures

While “Avengers: Doomsday” may have wrapped, Marvel Studios is still very much in the midst of filming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” which is expected to continue shooting in the UK well into the Fall.

Briefly taking time out from his filming commitments, actor Tom Holland spoke with Complex (via CBM) and said his upcoming fourth film as Spider-Man really feels like a fresh start for him and the character:

“It really feels like we aren’t making the fourth movie. We’re making the first movie in the next chapter. This is a rebirth. This is something completely new.”

Part of that is the new suit, one that no longer has Stark Industries technology and pays homage to those worn by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parkers in “Spider-Man: No Way Home”. Holland says:

“I’m really glad people are picking up on the homage to Tobey and Andrew’s suit. I think the third movie was very much about paying respects to those guys. I really like the idea that he’s trying to be like his big brothers, that he looks up to them, and he sees little details on their suits that he thinks are really cool, and now that he is making his own suit and isn’t part of this bigger team.”

Additionally, The Punisher’s tank, which was part of the street filming in Glasgow in early August, has been spotted in Basingstoke, England (via X) with filming reportedly to take place there this week and then again in the second week of October. That means new set photos are likely to be incoming.

Destin Daniel Cretton helms the film from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, and Liza Colón-Zayas co-star.

“Spider-Man: Brand New Day: will be released in cinemas on July 31st 2026.
