Cillian Murphy Fine With Missing “Odyssey”

Universal Pictures

Along with being an Oscar winning actor, Cillian Murphy is also known as being something of a good luck charm for filmmaker Christopher Nolan.

The actor and Nolan have worked together on six films to date including “Inception,” “Batman Begins,” “The Dark Knight,” “The Dark Knight,” “Dunkirk” and of course “Oppenheimer”.

But they’re not always working together and Murphy this weekend, appearing at the Toronto Film Festival studio with the team behind his new movie “Steve,” confirmed he’s not part of Nolan’s Ancient Greek epic “The Odyssey”.

Asked about not being a part of it by Variety, he says he’s quite happy to miss out on it this time but is keen to see it:

“Is there a trailer? I have ROMO: ‘Relief of missing out’. No, I can’t wait to see it. If any director in the world could tackle ‘The Odyssey,’ it’s going to be Christopher Nolan. I am so excited to see it. He is one in a million. He’s been a huge part of my life as an actor. I can’t wait to see what he does with it.”

Murphy was also asked about the upcoming “Peaky Blinders” movie which he is starring in, but was even more tight-lipped on that one saying only: “Oh, I can’t tell you.” “Steve” premiered at Toronto on Friday and currently sits at 75% on Rotten Tomatoes.
