New “Man of Tomorrow” Rumors Emerge

Warner Bros. Pictures

Earlier this morning, “Superman” director James Gunn announced the “Man of Tomorrow” title and confirmed the previously rumored release date for the next instalment in the ‘Superman Saga’ at DC Studios.

It was also confirmed that several key players will be back including David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Nic Hoult as Lex Luthor, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl.

Gunn has already completed a treatment and is working on the film’s script, he’s also expected to direct and produce alongside DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran.

In the hours since that report however, other small and less confirmed reports have started popping up and adding potential new details about the movie.

First up, stars from multiple DC projects have commented on the news, reacting to the original post in a way that has many speculating about their involvement.

Aaron Pierre, who is set to play the Green Lantern John Stewart in HBO’s “Lanterns” and Grant Gustin, who played Barry Allen/The Flash on The CW series “The Flash,” dropped comments that are being taken as speculation they’re involved according to Coming Soon, especially Pierre’s comment of “see you soon” which Gunn himself subsequently responded to with a celebration emoji.

Next, Nexus Point News is claiming that although the film will continue to feature Lex as an antagonist, rumors suggest he and Superman will also join forces at some point in the story preseumably to take on a ‘bigger bad’ according to their sources.

They also believe a number of other DCU characters will appear, including Supergirl (Milly Alcock), Lobo (Jason Momoa) and Peacemaker (John Cena). The outlet has been on a strong streak of late – the first to report on Alex Garland’s “Elden Ring” involvement and Meryl Streep as Aslan in Greta Gerwig’s “Narnia” film.

Filming on “Man of Tomorrow” is slated to get underway next Summer ahead of a July 9th 2027 release.
