The first trailer has officially been released by Warner Bros. Pictures for “Saltburn” and “Promising Young Woman” director Emerald Fennell’s new take on Emily Bronte’s legendary 1847 novel “Wuthering Heights”.
Considered one of the greatest novels of English literature, the story concerns two families of the landed gentry living on the West Yorkshire moors, the Earnshaws and the Lintons.
Specifically, it focuses on their turbulent relationships with the Earnshaws’ foster son, Heathcliff, who grows close to the Earnshaws’ actual daughter, Catherine – the pair engaged in a toxic relationship throughout the work with moments of cruelty and domestic abuse.
Aussie actors Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi play the roles of Catherine and Heathcliff respectively in this version of the work which has already had countless screen adaptations to date.
“Adolescence” breakout Owen Cooper also stars as a younger version of Heathcliff. Oscar nominee Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, BAFTA winner Martin Clunes and Ewan Mitchell also star.
Fennell directs from her own screenplay. The new “Wuthering Heights” is set to hit cinemas on February 13th 2026.
