Kristen Bell (“Veronica Mars,” “Nobody Wants This”) and Daniela Melchior (“The Suicide Squad,” “Road House”) are set to join David Harbour in the cast of the “Violent Night” sequel at Universal Pictures and 87North.
The Tommy Wirkola-directed and David Harbour-led 2022 film saw Santa Claus, who was originally an ancient Norse warrior in the film’s world, defend a family from a group of ruthless mercenaries.
Made on a cost-effective $25 million budget, the film raked in more than $75 million worldwide at the box-office and quickly made the jump to PVOD where it is believed to have done very well for the distributor.
Pat Casey and Josh Miller, who penned the first film, are returning alongside Wirkola. Specifics of the new film are under wraps, but Harbour will return as the violent Santa Claus.
Kelly McCormick and David Leitch will produce the film, which has already set a Wednesday, December 4th 2026 release.
Melchior will soon be seen in the “Anaconda” reboot and Peter Farrelly’s “Balls Up,” Bell in a new season of “Nobody Wants This”.
