“True Detective” Duo Reunite For Netflix

HBO

Netflix has reportedly emerged as the winner of a bidding war that will reunite “True Detective” creator Nic Pizzolatto and actor Matthew McConaughey.

Currently untitled, the mystery project unites the pair and “Yellowstone” actor Cole Hauser in a series being backed by Skydance Sports.

Amazon, Apple and Netflix were all in the mix, with Netflix winning. The project is in development and deals with McConaughey and Hauser to star are being finalized.

Details are slim beyond McConaughey and Hauser playing brothers, and the fact that it’s from Skydance Sports suggests a sports angle.

This is separate to the Apple TV+ comedy that has McConaughey re-teaming with his former “True Detective” co-star Woody Harrelson, or the “Yellowstone” spinoff titled “The Dutton Ranch” in which Hauser and Kelly Rilly star.

McConaughey and Hauser first worked together on “Dazed and Confused”.
