Two major films of the Summer have set their digital release dates.
Joseph Kosinski’s racing drama “F1,” starring Brad Pitt, has been a worldwide smash and is currently sitting at around $582.6 million globally.
That makes it the most successful Apple Studios cinema release to date and the highest-grossing title of Pitt’s career.
Now, When to Stream reports that “F1” is set to hit digital this coming Friday, August 22nd – arriving almost two months after the film’s theatrical release in late June.
Meanwhile, they are also reporting that Universal Pictures will release the DreamWorks Animation sequel “The Bad Guys 2” on PVOD on Tuesday, August 19th.
That means it’s coming on digital approximately 18 days after its theatrical run began on August 1st, which is in line with Universal’s PVOD window deal, which allows them to bring titles to PVOD after 17 days if they open under $50 million.
That said, the site advises “Universal Pictures has neither announced nor confirmed the release date”.
