Original “Scary Movie” leading ladies Regina Hall and Anna Faris are reprising their respective roles of Brenda and Cindy for the next entry in the series.
The Wayans Brothers (Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen) and Rick Alvarez are writing and producing the movie, which will be the sixth overall in the franchise and effectively a legacy sequel from the team behind the first two films in the horror spoof series.
Said Hall and Faris in a statement: “We can’t wait to bring Brenda and Cindy back to life and be reunited with our great friends Keenen, Shawn and Marlon — three men we’d literally die for (in Brenda’s case, again).”
The new film is prepping for an October shoot in time for a June 12th 2026 global theatrical release via Paramount Pictures. Michael Tiddes (” A Haunted House”) is set to direct.
The previous five films grossed over $896 million worldwide, with the first one of the highest-grossing R-rated horror movies of all time, debuting to a $42.5 million opening weekend.
Hall next stars in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” while Faris is in “Spa Weekend”.
