Boyd Holbrook marks the latest addition to the cast of the “Extraction” TV series currently in the works at Netflix.
Announced back in February, “Lupin” star Omar Sy plays the lead role in the series that will be set in the same world as the films, which star Chris Hemsworth as Australian black ops mercenary Tyler Rake.
Glen Mazzara (“The Walking Dead”) will serve as executive producer and showrunner on the eight-episode series that’s set up at Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO.
The currently untitled action thriller series follows a mercenary (Sy) as he navigates a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, characters face life-or-death choices, betrayal and emotional struggles.
Exact character details for Holbrook are being kept under wraps. Holbrook has been a regular at Netflix with roles in “Narcos” and “The Sandman” and has been on a run of late with films like “A Complete Unknown” and “The Bikeriders” as well as shows like “Justified: City Primeval”.
Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Scott Nemes, Chris Castaldi, Sam Hargrave, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin all executive produce.
