Netflix has unveiled the full-length trailer for the film adaptation of Richard Osman’s bestselling 2020 novel “The Thursday Murder Club”.
Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie lead the crime-comedy, which is being directed by “Mrs. Doubtfire” filmmaker Chris Columbus from a script by Katy Brand and Suzanne Heathcote.
The story follows a group of friends in a retirement home – an ex-spy (Mirren), ex-psychiatrist (Kingsley), ex-union activist (Brosnan) and ex-nurse (Imrie) who gather to solve cold case murders for fun. They soon find themselves caught up in a real case.
Also starring are Richard E. Grant, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Sarah Niles and Henry Lloyd-Hughes.
Columbus, Holly Bario, Jeb Brody, Eleanor Columbus, Jo Burn, and Jennifer Todd produce the project, which is a Netflix and Amblin co-production.
“The Thursday Murder Club” is slated to hit the service on August 28th.
