Steven Knight To Pen Next Bond Film

EON, MGM, Sony Pictures

Amazon MGM Studios has officially announced “Peaky Blinders” creator Steven Knight will pen the script for the new Denis Villeneuve-directed James Bond film.

The British writer/producer has an extensive list of writing credits for major films to his name, including “Eastern Promises,” “Locke,” “Spencer,” “Maria,” “Allied,” “Dirty Pretty Things,” and “The Girl in the Spider’s Web”.

He also created shows like “SAS: Rogue Heroes,” “Taboo” and “See,” and most recently was linked to pen a “Star Wars” film but is no longer attached.

Knight is expected to work on the script while Villeneuve spends the next year or so filming and doing post-production on “Dune: Part Three”. It’s expected Villeneuve will move onto the Bond film once that third “Dune” film wraps.

Casting for the new Bond film, including the key question of who will play the new 007, isn’t expected to get underway until well into next year.

The project will mark the first film since Amazon MGM Studios took creative control of the franchise.
