Full Trailer: “The Conjuring: Last Rites”

New Line Cinema

The second trailer has been released for “The Conjuring: Last Rites,” the fourth and final mainline film in the franchise.

Michael Chaves, who helmed 2021’s “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It” and more recently the 2023 spin-off “The Nun II,” is back to direct this while franchise stars Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson return as Lorraine and Ed Warren for the final time.

The eight previous films of the series have had a mix of reactions, with the mainline films being the most well-received. In particular, the leading pair’s chemistry has long been lauded.

The new entry sees Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga’s Ed and Lorraine Warren called out of retirement to investigate the Smurl family haunting – a Pennsylvania family who alleges that a demon inhabited their home between 1974 and 1989. The Warrens were brought in to investigate in 1986.

As the trailer indicates, the haunting involves a demon – one that Lorraine dealt with at the very beginning of her career and which has haunted her to this day.

Mia Tomlinson, Rebecca Calder, Elliot Cowan, Kíla Lord Cassidy, Beau Gadsdon, Tilly Walker, Molly Cartwright, Peter Wight, and Kate Fahy co-star in the film, which will be released in U.S. cinemas on September 5th.
