“Meet the Parents 4” Gets A Title

Universal Pictures

Universal Pictures has officially announced that “Focker in Law” will serve as the title for the upcoming fourth movie in the “Meet the Parents” comedy franchise.

Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, Teri Polo and Owen Wilson will return for the fourth instalment of the long-running comedy film series. Ariana Grande is set and Skyler Gisondo is rumored to be joining the cast.

John Hamburg, who co-wrote all three prior films, wrote the screenplay for the new feature and is set to direct the film which opens next November.

The first film was released in 2000 and focused on a male nurse named Greg Focker (Stiller) who desires to gain the approval and blessing of the stern father (De Niro) of his girlfriend (Polo). Two sequels followed expanding the family.

Wilson played Polo’s ex-fiance, a wealthy and talented man adored by her parents, in the first film with short appearances in the sequels. Wilson reprises the role here.

Part of the story is said to revolve around the son of Stiller and Polo’s characters (Gisondo), who gets engaged to a ball-busting woman (Grande) who seems all wrong for him.

Stiller, John Lesher, Jane Rosenthal and De Niro are producing.
