Brief Mephisto, Vision, Avengers Updates

Marvel

A good couple of Marvel updates have emerged in the past day or so ahead of the release of “Fantastic Four: The First Steps” in cinemas on Friday.

First up, Sacha Baron Cohen is drawing attention for his body transformation to play Mephisto in the MCU in the recent “Ironheart” series.

The actor appeared on the cover of Men’s Fitness U.K., showing a lean and defined body which he dubs “hard launching my mid-life crisis”. He achieved his fitness goals despite starting with “the core strength of an arthritic jellyfish”.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige gave an definitive “yes” response when asked by Games Radar if he could confirm Mephisto will return in future MCU projects. He adds: “now that he’s here, the potential is clear.”

Next, Feature First is reporting that filming has wrapped on the Paul Bettany-led “Vision” TV series. Terry Matalas serves as showrunner on the series which is expected to air sometime in 2026 on the Disney+ service.

Finally, Matt Belloni’s The Town podcast is reporting that Chris Hemsworth will serve as the second lead role in “Avengers: Doomsday,” presumably after Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom in the lead.
