New Details On “Jimmy Olsen,” “Parents 4”

Warner Bros. Pictures

Fans of “Santa Clarita Diet,” “The Righteous Gemstones,” or “Booksmart” have long known about actor Skyler Gisondo’s knack for comedy; others only recently found out with his role as Jimmy Olsen in James Gunn’s “Superman”.

Now, new details are out on two projects with Gisondo set to star. First up, The InSneider reports that the actor is set to star in Universal Pictures’ “Meet the Parents 4”.

He joins a cast that includes Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Teri Polo, and Blythe Danner all returning to star, while Ariana Grande is also onboard. Gisondo, who played Stiller’s son in one of the “Night at the Museum” films over a decade ago, is expected to do so again here.

Meanwhile, the outlet confirms that a spin-off series focusing on his character is “being considered”. Rumours are that the show will be a crime anthology series with the Daily Planet reporter investigating various supervillains.

Sneider says one of these villains will be none other than Gorilla Grodd who could appear as early as the first episode – marking his live-action DCU debut after a brief appearance in the “Creature Commandos” animated series.

The series would also be able to serve as an introduction to several other DC Comics metahuman characters.
