“Mickey 17,” “Blink Twice” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” actress Naomi Ackie is in early talks for the female lead in the “Clayface” film at DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures.
She would join rising Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries in the film which hails from “Speak No Evil” director James Watkins. Ackie reportedly emerged as the top choice during readings last week.
Mike Flanagan wrote the script for the body horror thriller about the Batman villain known for his ability to shapeshift.
Boasting a budget in the mid-$40 million range, the story follows an ascending actor whose face is disfigured by a gangster. He turns to a fringe scientist for help.
The project is said to have shades and structure of David Cronenberg’s “The Fly” and is already dated for September 11th 2026.
