Tracy Ifeachor, who starred as Dr. Heather Collins in the first season of HBO Max’s “The Pitt,” will not return to the acclaimed medical drama in its second season reports TV Line.
The decision has been pegged as a creative one, and not Ifeachor’s choice to leave. The optics of this exit are a little awkward as it happens just one day after Ifeachor posted on Instagram saying getting to work on the first season was a “blessing”.
She notably made no mention of the second season, which is currently in production, so it’s not clear when the call for her to not return was made.
Her character was last seen in the eleventh episode of the fifteen-episode seaosn – sharing a personal moment with Noah Wyle’s Dr. Robby before she clocked out of her shift – missing the last four episodes.
Sepideh Moafi (“The L Word: Generation Q”) will play a new character who serves as the attending physician in emergency medicine in the show’s second season.
That second season will take place over a July 4th weekend, the same weekend a Furry convention is happening in Pittsburgh, so expect some Furry-related antics in the coming episodes which will premiere January 2026.
