A couple of key digital release dates in the wake of “The Phoenician Scheme” and “Karate Kid Legends” hitting PVOD yesterday. Joining them are “M3GAN 2.0” and the live-action “How to Train Your Dragon” hitting PVOD on July 15th, the Rami Malek-led “The Amateur” going to Hulu on July 17th, “The Life of Chuck” hitting PVOD on July 29th, and rumors that “Jurassic World Rebirth” will hit PVOD on August 5th. Top Secret Service
Solipsist Films has taken the film rights to Zack Keller and Giovanna La Pietra’s upcoming action-comedy comic “Top Secret Service” with plans for a screen adaptation. Keller will write the script.
The project follows two young Secret Service agents who must protect a retired president they were assigned to on a remote Montana ranch- only to discover he’s the last living link to a decades-old alien contact cover-up and the key to unlocking dangerous extraterrestrial tech. [Source: THR]
The Eyes Are The Best Part
“Past Lives” actress Greta Lee will make her directorial debut with Searchlight Pictures’ psychological horror adaptation of Monika Kim’s novel “The Eyes Are the Best Part”. Lee will also write the script.
Set in Los Angeles, the book tells the story of a woman named Ji-won, whose life unravels after her father has an affair and then leaves the family. She finds an inventive way to satiate her rage and hunger – becoming a serial killer. [Source: THR]
Muppet Man
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “Wolfs” director Jon Watts is currently in talks to direct a biopic about “The Muppets” creator Jim Henson reports DanielRPK. “Muppet Man” is being penned by Chris Weitz (“Rogue One”) and covers Henson’s life and rise to fame with “The Muppet Show” and “Sesame Street”.
