Naughty Dog is reportedly releasing a new free update for “The Last of Us Part II” game, one which will allow players to experience the game’s story chronologically as opposed to the original’s non-linear approach. Sony has confirmed that it will hold a State of Play presentation tomorrow, one that will put the focus on this October’s “Ghost of Tsushima” follow-up “Ghost of Yotei”. Nearly 20 minutes of gameplay from the title will be showcased – offering new details on Atsu’s quest for vengeance along with showcasing new weapons, special modes, personalisation and more. Sony Pictures has hired “Eternals” writers Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo to adapt Michael Crichton and James Patterson’s best-selling novel “Eruption”. The story follows a history-making volcano explosion that is about to wipe away the big island of Hawaii and a secret held for decades by the U.S. military that is far more terrifying than any volcano. The Devil Wears Prada 2
Simone Ashley (“Bridgerton”) has joined the cast of 20th Century Studios’ “The Devil Wears Prada 2” alongside core members Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci as well as new addition Kenneth Branagh.
Specifics of her role are under wraps. The sequel follows Miranda Priestly (Streep) facing the decline of the print industry and her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt) now a bigtime executive in fashion circles as the two compete for ad revenue. [Source: Deadline]
Monster Hunter Wilds
Capcom has reportedly cancelled a planned lecture at Japan’s CEDEC about the development of its “Monster Hunter Wilds” game following several direct threats made to Capcom staff over the game’s performance.
The talk was planned to discuss Capcom‘s recent advancements in performance and optimization. A recently released update has led to performance issues with the game and the publisher received such severe social media backlash it has scrapped the lecture. Capcom hasn’t said directly that the cancellation was related to the harassment. [Source: VGC]
