UK Review Details Major “Ironheart” Cameo

Marvel

Marvel Studios has been teasing a major cameo coming up in “Ironheart” with the appearance expected to take place in the season finale airing this coming Tuesday, July 1st.

Said cameo has long been speculated to be Sacha Baron Cohen, who is in the cast list, playing famed Marvel villain Mephisto. However, reviews so far for the overall series have carefully avoided spoiling its big cameos… until now.

British tabloid The Telegraph posted a review of the series earlier in the week, but it was this weekend that it came to many people’s attention as the review hasn’t shied away from spilling the beans on the details of the cameo

SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE END OF “IRONHEART”

The author of the review spends a good chunk of it speaking about the appearance, and yes. after years of waiting, I can finally say it – “Mephisto confirmed”.

The outlet says Sacha Baron Cohen is indeed playing Mephisto as a “pantomime villain version” of The Devil, one which speaks with the accent of actor Danny Dyer and boasts “Victorian-style face furniture”.

They add the character: “feels parachuted into Ironheart from an altogether higher camp planet, a hammed up slice of melodrama many worlds away from Ironheart’s weary stab at a cool urban milieu.”

They also say the arrival breathes a lot of energy into the show, but it’s too late to make a difference. The series itself was shot back in 2022 and it’s not clear yet if this is just a one-off or will go on to other things, we’ll know more when the episodes release on Tuesday July 1st.
