Haley Bennett Being Eyed For “Insidious 6”

Sony Pictures

“The Girl on the Train” and “The Magnificent Seven” actress Haley Bennett is reportedly being eyed to star as the female lead in the upcoming sixth “Insidious” film at Blumhouse Productions.

The InSneider broke the news, the film is tipped to be directed by Jacob Chase and is currently in pre-production with shooting expected to begin later this year ahead of an August 21st 2026 release.

James Wan, Leigh Whannell, Oren Peli, Michael Clear and Jason Blum are expected to produce, but no word as yet on who will write or star.

The film will follow in the wake of “Insidious: The Red Door,” the fifth film which released in July 2023 and made $189.1 million off a $16 million budget, becoming the highest-grossing entry in the series despite mixed reviews.

That film saw a now adult Ty Sympkins, who played the kid in the first two films, return to the franchise. Whether he’ll return here is unclear.

Blumhouse is also working on a “Ma” sequel and Sneider indicates Michael Showalter (“The Idea of You”) is close to finalizing talks to direct the sequel. Octavia Spencer will return in some capacity as the titular character but further details are unknown.
