A24 has premiered the trailer for the sports drama “The Iron Claw” starring Zac Efron and “The Bear” breakout star Jeremy Allen White.
Sean Durkin (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”) wrote and directed the film about the tragic, true story of the Von Erich family – a dynasty of professional wrestlers who made history in the intensely competitive sport in the early 1980s.
The brothers not only had to battle inside the ring, but also outside, they were plagued with a series of tragedies.
Efron plays Kevin Von Erich alongside White as Kerry Von Erich, Harris Dickinson as David Von Erich, Holt McCallany is Fritz Von Erich, Maura Tierney as family matriarch Doris, and Lily James as Kevin’s wife Pam.
Tessa Ross, Juliette Howell and Angus Lamont produce the $20 million project which was shot in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Chavo Guerrero served as the wrestling coordinator for the film.
“The Iron Claw” opens in cinemas nationwide on December 22nd.
