Filmmaker John Carpenter is back in the director’s chair for his new unscripted documentary series “Suburban Screams” which premieres on Peacock on October 13th.

The director’s official YouTube channel has released a new behind-the-scenes video in which Carpenter can be seen at work overseeing shots, doing interviews, and talking with the crew.

Carpenter co-directed the series finale of the six-episode run, an episode titled “Phone Stalker”. Jordan Roberts serves as the sole showrunner and directed an episode. Michelle Latimer and Jan Paviacky also directed episodes. Producer Sandy King and writer Amanda Deibert can also be seen in the clip.

The series explores the dark secrets and unspeakable evil that sometimes lurks beneath the surface of the sun-drenched streets, manicured lawns and friendly neighbors of suburbia.

Each episode focuses on one true tale of terror, told by the real people who lived through it. The documentary series will blend first-hand accounts and re-enactments.

The project marks the first time “Halloween” and “Escape from New York” helmer Carpenter has directed anything since 2010’s “The Ward”. He’s also doing music for the project.
