Fox has cancelled its live-action mockumentary series “Welcome to Flatch” after two seasons. The series, based on the BBC’s “This Country,” wrapped its second season back in February.

The series follows a documentary crew sent to explore life in a small town as we meet the eccentric residents of Flatch, Ohio – a fictional rural community near Columbus.

The action primarily centered on two cousins – Holmes as Kelly Mallet and Sam Straley as Lloyd “Shrub” Mallet. Other cast included Justin Linville, Taylor Ortega, Krystal Smith, Aya Cash, Seann William Scott and Jaime Pressly.

The series was one of FOX’s least-watched for both seasons – averaging 1.24 million viewers and a 0.28 rating in Live+7. In an official statement, FOX says:

“While audience response was not as strong as we had hoped, we were thrilled with the creativity of the enormously talented Jenny Bicks and Paul Feig, as well as the outstanding, dedicated cast and crew they assembled. We look forward to collaborating with them again in the future.”

Bicks, Feig, Angie Stephenson, Charlie Cooper and Daisy May Cooper executive produced for Lionsgate, Perkins Street Productions, Feigco Entertainment, BBC Studios and FOX Entertainment.
