Netflix

Netflix has announced that its cartoon spin-off “Castlevania: Nocturne” has been renewed for a second season.

Based on Konami’s “Castlevania: Rondo of Blood” video game (with a dash of “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night”), The series is set during the French Revolution.

It follows Trevor Belmont and Sypha’s descendant Richter, who is carrying on with his family’s vampire-hunting tradition. The cast includes Edward Bluemel as Richter, Pixie Davies as Maria Renard, Thuso Mbedu as Annette, Natassja Kinski as Tera, Sydney James Harcourt as Edouard, Zahn McClarnon as and Franka Potente as Erzsebet Bathory.

Creator Clive Bradley and showrunner Kevin Kolde say in a statement: “Thanks to all of the Castlevania fans old and new for the amazing response and support!. We are excited to be able to bring you more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.”

The series reportedly reached Netflix’s Top 10 English TV List last week.
