Apple Sets “Criminal Record” Premiere Date

Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has set a January 12th 2024 premiere date for its crime thriller series “Criminal Record” which stars Peter Capaldi (“Doctor Who”) and Cush Jumbo (“The Good Fight”).

The character-driven drama hails from Paul Rutman (“Five Days”), and is set in the heart of contemporary London and tackles “issues of race, institutional failure, and the quest to find common ground in a polarized Britain.”

An anonymous phone call draws two brilliant detectives – Detective Sergeant June Lenker, who is in the early stages of her career, and Detective Chief Inspector Daniel Hegarty, a well-connected man determined to protect his legacy – into a confrontation over an old murder case.

Capaldi and Jumbo previously worked together on the “Torchwood: Children of Earth” event series which drew acclaim and eyeballs with its distinct rollout which saw five hour-long episodes released daily across one week.

Charlie Creed-Miles, Shaun Dooley, Stephen Campbell Moore, Zoë Wanamaker, Rasaq Kukoyi, Maisie Ayres, Aysha Kala, Cathy Tyson, Dionne Brown and Tom Moutchi also star.

Jim Loach and Shaun James Grant direct whilst Rutman, Capaldi, Jumbo and Elaine Collins executive produce. The first two episodes will release on that date, with the remaining six unfolding weekly afterwards.
