The first trailer has been released for the 22-minute-long animated short “LEGO Jurassic Park: The Unofficial Retelling” which will hit Peacock on October 10th.
The special is based on Steven Spielberg’s classic 1993 film adaptation of the Michael Crichton novel, but this time it shifts the story so it unfolds from the perspective of chaos theory mathematician Dr. Ian Malcolm.
As per usual with LEGO, certain famous scenes from the film will be remixed with the signature humour that comes with the LEGO specials and games. With its breezy runtime, it’s also a very truncated version of the original film’s story.
The synopsis indicates the special begins with a framing device in which an older Dr. Malcolm finds his own personal journal and uses it to retell the tale of what happened that night at Jurassic Park.
Along the way, he finds a way to add his own sense of humor and style in bringing this story to life. It joins several LEGO “Jurassic World” specials which have recently been added to the Peacock streaming library.
The special comes as the original film celebrates its 30th anniversary. LEGO is also releasing new Jurassic Park and Jurassic World sets to honor the anniversary.
