SpongeBob SquarePants
Nickelodeon has renewed their flagship animated series “SpongeBob SquarePants” for a 26-episode fifteenth season. The move brings the total episode count up to 345 since the show’s July 1999. Seasons 1-12 are currently available on the Paramount+ service. [Source: TV Line]

Max Payne
Remedy creative director Sam Lake has made it clear the upcoming remakes of the first two “Max Payne” games, which will be combined into one bundle, is a “significant undertaking” and a “big, big project” that will bring both titles “up to modern standards”.

Both games use Remedy’s Northlight game engine as seen in “Control” and the quality is said to be in line with “a typical Remedy AAA game production”. [Source: VGC]

Netflix
Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos confirmed on social media that today the company shipped their last DVD after 25 years, which was the Coens 2010 “True Grit” remake. More than 5 billion of those red envelopes have been shipped in their time. The last DVDs sent out today need to be returned by October 27th. [Source: Instagram]

Epic Games
Epic Games will slash its workforce by 16%, laying off around 830 employees as it looks to cut costs. The company is also selling Bandcamp the music store and community platform it acquired in 2022.

The cutbacks were announced in an internal memo from CEO Tim Sweeney. Epic Games has been waging a multiyear legal fight against the app stores operated by Apple and Google. [Source: Variety]
