Oceangate Tragedy To Become A Film

MindRiot Entertainment has set “Salvaged,” a scripted feature film based on this year’s Oceangate submersible tragedy.

Justin MacGregor and Jonathan Keasey will co-write the film which will reportedly cover periods before, during, and after the five-day tragedy that claimed five lives back in June.

Oceangate’s Titan submersible vanished on June 18th, setting off a massive search. Five days later, wreckage from the Titan was found near the wreckage of the Titanic.

E. Brian Dobbins (“The Blackening”) has signed on to co-produce. The project is separate from a docuseries of the same name based on the tragedy. MindRiot is also producing that.

Jonathan Keasey says in a statement: “Our film will not only honor all those involved in the submersible tragedy, and their families, but the feature will serve as a vessel that also addresses a more macro concern about the nature of media today.”

The film will be one part of MindRiot’s upcoming slate of projects which includes multiple docuseries.
